My Daughter-in-Law, Slavka, is from Slovakia. Slovakia is very beautiful and the people there are warm and friendly. It is a wonderful place to visit. Slavka's parents, the Melioris Family, live in Trnava. Her Mother is a retired Teacher and her Father is a retired Engineer, who formerly worked at a nearby Nuclear Power Plant. Her Brother, Brano, is also an Engineer and works in Bratislava, the capitol of Slovakia. Brano was my guide during his student days and took me to the interesting places in Slovakia, as well as to the neighboring countries of Austria, Hungary, and the Czech Republic.
Slavka lives in Nassau Bay (Houston), Texas with my Son, Stephen, and their sons, Edmund,Hugh, and Richard. Their first Son, Stephen, died in 1994 at age sixteen months. We miss him very much. I am very proud of all my little Slovak/American Grandsons, who aren't so small now.
Slavka, Stephen, Edmund,Hugh, and Richard travel to Slovakia often to visit her family. They also visit other relatives in Switzerland. Look here for a picture of Edmund and Hugh.
On December 30, 1998 the State of Texas decided that Slavka could be a motor vehicle driver. Congratulations.

Below are some pictures of some of the towns in Slovakia. Also a picture of the High Tatras, a mountain range in the northern part of Slovakia. All are very beautiful.
